Your Smile, Renewed
Dentures, in one form or another, have been used for generations to help people quickly and affordably replace multiple missing teeth. Thankfully, they have advanced quite a bit over the past few decades, and now modern-day dentures are smaller, sleeker, and more comfortable than ever. Using the highest-quality materials and a meticulous attention to detail, Dr. Bal can give any patient a set of teeth that looks natural, feels great, and helps restore their quality of life. Denture Candidates
Patients who are missing numerous consecutive and nonconsecutive teeth should replace their lost tooth structure as soon as possible. The longer you wait to restore your lost teeth, the more supportive bone and gum tissue will diminish. Remaining healthy teeth will also shift to fill the gap left by lost teeth. This can cause serious bite alignment concerns, undo costly orthodontic treatments, cause difficulty chewing, impede speech, and change the appearance of your facial features. The sooner we begin your tooth replacement treatment plan the easier it will be to fully renew your oral health and function. Whether you’re missing a single tooth, several consecutive teeth, or an entire row of teeth, don’t wait to schedule your tooth replacement consultation with the Bal Dental Centre team. If you’ve lost numerous consecutive and nonconsecutive teeth or a full row of teeth, we will likely recommend a partial or full denture.
The Types of Dentures
We offer both partial and full dentures to replace any number of missing teeth as well as implant supported prosthetics to completely restore the most damaged smiles.
- Partial Denture:These are used to replace multiple missing teeth while fitting in among a patient’s remaining teeth like the missing piece of a puzzle. They consist of ceramic teeth attached to a gum-colored base, and they are held in place using small metal clasps that fit onto neighbouring teeth.
- Full Denture: This is an entire row of prosthetic teeth attached to a realistic-looking gum-colored base. The dentures sit directly on the gums, and they are held in place using either natural suction or a small amount of denture adhesive.
- Implant-Retained Dentures:These resemble traditional dentures except for one main difference: they are held in place by snapping onto multiple dental implants. They usually are not removable, and they provide a much more secure fit and stronger bite force compared to a removable prosthetic. They are typically able to maintain their fit for much longer because the implants actually support the jawbone from the inside.
Dental Implant Supported Partial & Full Dentures
Traditional dentures are only able to renew 10 to 20% of chewing ability. That means patients are limited to consuming a very small number of foods, which can adversely impact their overall health. Implant supported dentures renew as much as 75% of chewing ability, so patients can eat a wider variety of foods and maintain a nutritious diet. The increased stability also allows patients to speak and smile in every personal and professional situation with complete confidence. Dental implants are placed in two phases. The first step is the surgical placement of a dental implant post. Once your implants are in place, they will fuse with the gums and bone tissue, recreating your lost tooth roots. Once the implant has fully fused with the jawbone, we can attach one or more replacement teeth. The dental implant retained replacement denture will look, feel, and function just like your whole, healthy smile.
